Plot:
Schiller's bar isn't doing very well but that's the least of his problems when a couple men show up to collect their money. Since Schiller isn't able to pay, they take him down to his basement to show him the error of his ways, but in a moment of cowardice he lets the thugs have their way with his wife to order to save his own skin. Now Anna becomes the play thing for these sadistic men, but they soon realize Anna isn't as much of a coward or a push over as her husband is.
Our thoughts:
This is my second venture into the world of A. Simona and unfortunately, like "Manniac," this movie is without subtitles. Thankfully given the nature of the films, there isn't much in the way of characters or story, so like "Manniac," it is a pretty straightforward movie and easy to follow. A couple of thugs beat the shit out of a bar owner for money, to spare himself he sells the thugs his wife, thugs rape wife, wife escapes and goes on a killing spree. Everybody got that? Good. Lets move on then.
One thing that differs "Mercilessly Betrayed" from "Manniac" is that it isn't nearly as focused on the porn aspect. There are only two sex scenes in the entire movie, while both are fairly long, they really don't take up much time. Instead "Mercilessly Betrayed" focuses more on the violence aspect with the thugs beating up Schiller (the bar owner) and Anna (the wife) taking revenge. Which, once again, isn't anything special. A fair amount of blood is spilled but that's really it. Nothing graphic. Nothing memorable, much like the movie itself.
To be fair, I certainly wasn't expecting a grand flick out of a horror-porno but all the same it's still not that great a movie simply because not much goes on. The movie can be broken up into three parts: first the thugs beat up the husband, second they rape and torture the wife, and third the wife gets revenge. The 'porn' side of the movie is pretty much a failure due to the lacking sex scenes and the women are once again fairly unnatractive. (I'm aware of what a dickish thing that is to say.) Then the horror and revenge aspect, while not a total failure, is also lackluster. "Mercilessly Betrayed" is probably best left to the forced-sex fetish fans, but even then...meh. |
